SAAHJ Scholarship & Awards Gala

Event Description

The San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists will host its 16th annual gala starting 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at the Marriott Rivercenter downtown. This year it's part of the annual conference of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, which will bring the nation's Latino journalists to the local gala.

SAAHJ will honor John Quiñones of ABC News with a lifetime achievement award and former San Antonio Mayor and Housing Secretary Henry Cisneros with its community service award. SAAHJ also will present its first-ever Corazón de Oro Award to filmmaker Robert Rodriguez ("El Mariachi," "Spy Kids"), a San Antonio native.
